The Schedule...

Lab Components
Upon completion of your hours, you will schedule a date to take your practical exam.
upon passing both a written and practical exam you will be a certified pilates teacher.
COURSEWORK
& TRAINING
Over the course of seven in-person training modules, students will build a strong foundation in anatomy, movement principles, Pilates history, and professional scope of practice. Together we'll explore the full Pilates repertoire, breaking down each exercise through the lens of biomechanics, purpose, cueing, modifications, progressions, and contraindications. Students will also learn the art of teaching and programming for private sessions, duets, and group classes, developing the skills and confidence needed to become thoughtful, knowledgeable instructors.
PERSONAL
PRACTICE HOURS
Developing your own movement practice is an essential part of becoming an effective instructor. Students are required to complete a minimum number of personal practice hours, which may be done in our studio during designated weekend practice times, through online resources, or at other Pilates studios.
PRACTICE
TEACHING HOURS
Students are encouraged to begin practice teaching shortly after the first training module. Friends, family members, partners, and colleagues can all serve as practice clients. The more individuals you have the opportunity to teach, the more confidence, experience, and versatility you will develop as an instructor. These hours are an essential part of transforming knowledge into effective teaching skills.
OBSERVATION
HOURS
Observing experienced instructors is one of the most valuable ways to deepen your understanding of the Pilates method and the art of teaching. Through observation, students gain insight into session design, exercise selection, cueing, hands-on corrections, client communication, and progression strategies. Watching experienced teachers work with a variety of clients helps bridge the gap between theory and real-world application.

When you commit to The Lab training, I also commit to be your mentor for not just the certification process but thereafter. As you begin your journey into the teaching world you'll come across questions but may not know where to get the answers. That's what I am here for! I'll make sure you have every resource you need to be a successful teacher!
